    need fabric suggestions

so i want to make a pouch for my bike to carry my hammock and some other small gear in.

so question is this:with the following requirements, can any one suggest me a fabric type?

1: will hold up to UV, since itll be on the bike pretty much 24/7
    2: waterproof
    3: black (preferred)

all i can think of is something like duck canvas, and i dont want to use leather (because ill be doing this myself...)

    thanks all

Sunbrella brand and similar other fabric brands make UV resistant synthetic fabics for use in patio umbrellas, awnings and such. I don't know about the color. Umbrellas and awnings usually aren't black. I would advise against the use of cotton for this application because of the moisture involved. It will rot very quickly. Probably faster than a syn would deteriorate from UV. Sunbrella is not cheap but I would think it would be your best best.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

    Black PU coated Cordura?

I agree with Rev, Sunbrella or a copycat material is probably your best bet.

Somewhere on here, someone did a test for UV resistance of ripstop nylon treated with a UV blocker. He left a treated patch next to an untreated patch outside for an extended period of time, and the treated patch was unfazed afterwards.
End conclusion was that spray-on UV blocker works very well.
