Hang on, you ask that question on a Hammock Forum site, surely we all love our hammocks so we will be always biased towards them; as we are the selective many who sleep in 'special tents'! - hammock will be my choice as well
I hung in a lightning storm over the weekend and all my other paddling friends were in tents. I had a river under me and so did the tenters. I worried about my under quilt getting splashed but the next morning it was just fine. It was hot weather too but I could breath the cool air off of the rain where my friends found it miserable to be closed up in their pop-ups. They all packed up wet & muddy equipment and all I had wet was my little tarp with no mud! HA!
