Any Mayan Adjustment Suggestions?

I little bit ago I asked if anyone had removed spreader bars from a Mayan hammock before. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=36829

Well today I finally got around to it.

Here are the before pictures...

Now for the after pictures... Notice in the first how its natural lay seems to be an upside down U... Maybe with a hoverboard I could hover up into it as long as I am not over water!

So my question has now changed.

Does anyone have a suggestion about how I could weave para-cord (or something) up on the ends so the hammock will lay better?

I guess it isn't as easy to see from the second picture but the lay really is like an upside down U. I guess you'll have to take my word on it.

try getting in between the 'fringy' edges and see if your weight turns it into a M shape?

Thanks for the reply KerMegan! It does form an M shape. Not by much, but it is an M.

My wife has just suggested that I need to figure out a way to shorten the length outer cords between the end and the bed portion, and have the lengths get progressively longer toward the center cords.

How on earth am I going to figure that out?
