I'm trying. We were supposed to take him back to Orlando for one more water park but stayed home. Now it seems that the games start 9/10. I'll have to try to work some magic. I plan on coming either way, but I'd really like some father/son time.

And thats why I choose to do this hang like this, as a family thing. Ive seen a good bit of hangs where its might not be kid friendly, and this one I wanted to be good for kids, wives, and hammock noobs with the options of hiking, paddling etc. awesome stuff!

Due to the fact that my wife says we can't afford for me to up a lowcountry boil, I put myself down for 4 gallons of sweet tea to contribute. Is that cool, or should I make more?

Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know I updated the spreadsheet with some new columns, one for hammock/suspension/tarp and one for insulation. I dont know how I forgot those, since this whole thing if for people to be able to learn whats what (noobs) and for the vets to show off (because i know yall like to...)
So, as you get the chance to, take a look and update it!

Also, Im still looking to get another site secured to make sure we have plenty of room to play and spread out, so if any of you can donate a little it would be appreciated greatly. its not much at all.

One more thing: this will be up to you guys, but if anyone has surplus gear, maybe we could have a swap meet saturday at some time. Just throwing that out there, since this will basically be car camping and you can bring as much as you want.
if yall like that idea, feel free to post here and the sheet if you want to bring things. you dont have to put what, just if youd like to bring things or be interested in getting some new gear.

still looking for anyone that can contribute to the potluck dinners, either with food or cooking. it will be camp style, unless someone has a good grill. if no one wants to, thats fine too, itll be fend for yourself for all the meals (which wouldnt be hard, with local options not far from the campsites)

AND Im willing to help anyone making a PLUQ or PLTQ, since i just made mine and am fairly happy with this no sew gear, and if anyone else would like to demo DIY gear, post it here. Coke can stoves, packs etc. people can bring the raw materials and if you know how to make something, you can show others.

just some ideas, any feed back is awesome.

I think thats a good idea. I know ive read in other trip reports where some guys brough some amsteel and taught people how to make whoopies. and people teaching how to make soft shackles and other things. but anyway I mean like you said its car camping so bringing extra stuff wouldnt be an issue.
Dale Gribble: I'm thinking, "new hammock." For me, laying and swaying in a hammock is like a steady morphine drip without the risk of renal failure.

Good idea Rev. Especially with car camping this could be like a seminar.
I still need to see a nacrabiner in action.

I'd be happy to show you or others how I make my whoopies.

Can we put a link to the spreadsheet in the first page? I have to keep remembering it's on p9.
