    Tarp Flyz and Dynaglide?

    Anyone using Flyz and Dynaglide?

I felt that Dutch Hooks were a bit too snug for the 2.2 mil Dynaglide.

The coating on the Dynaglide got slightly chewed up by the hooks and that made me a bit nervous.

I know the Flyz and Hooks are both designed for smaller diameter cordage - but I would rather not throw $15 towards Zing-It AND $15 towards Flyz (if i can get away with only having to get the Flyz if they work with my current Dynaglide RLs on both my tarps).

    I've used them together...works fine.

It's a tight fit to get it threaded in the first place, but works fine once you do. If you have problems, just taper the end of the dynaglide a little and it will go right in.

Thanks for the response, I should clarify that I was more so referring to the "antennae" of the Flyz as that would be the "pinching" portion that I would be worried about possibly damaging the Dynaglide.

I would be actually threading the Flyz onto a 1.5mm accessory cordage prussik and running the Dynaglide simply through the "antennae".

Dynaglide is on the larger side of what the antenna will fit. It is snug, but fits. If you like you can open the antenna up a smidge with a screw driver.

I haven't seen any damage from that. The hollow braid of the Dynaglide spreads out nicely when it is pinched in that 'antennae', so it doesn't seem to show wear from it. At least that's my experience after using the Flyz on a tarp with Dyaglide for about 20 nights on the trail.

Dutch is certainly right that you can tailor the V on the Flyz if it's an issue.
