Hanging in the Highlands of Roan

Hedcase, Skippy, Rob and I did Carver's Gap to 19E this past weekend. On the way home, I hung in the moonlight at the Gorge. Here is the video:

Very Coll Mac. One of my favorite places on earth is on those Balds. You saw the goats, did you see the herder...Jamie?

My cousin spent a weekend goat-sitting for the "Baaa-Tany Goat Project" up there about a month ago. Pretty cool what that guy is doing.

Didn't see a shepherd, but that dog was impressive. When we got a little too close, he growled. He quieted down as soon as Joel spoke to him in a nice voice, and stopped approaching.

Anyone know what breed that dog is?

Good video, Mac. That's a Great Pyrenees dog--a natural herd protector. Thanks for posting!

Yup, Great Pyrenees. Here's a link to my cousin's blog post about the goat project, if anyone is interested.

We found a Rubbermaid water trough and a 5 gal bucket that the vols use to keep the goats watered. There is a spring not far down the trail.

I know what the goats eat... what does the Great Pyrnees eat?
