Well we are looking at putting together a one night hang on October 8, 2011 at James "Sloppy" Floyd State Park. This is a beautiful park here in NW Georgia in small town of Summerville. The new head Park Ranger is really wanting to make some changes to the park and get some activity going. What is being proposed is a $5.00 a person fee and then $5.00 parking fee for the hang. The park has two lakes where you can fish if you desire. There is also several trails to mosey on, then there are some trails that are good hiking that tie into the Pinhoti Trail. Also there is a Marble Mine you can hike to and see. We are looking at using the Pioneer Campground area, should be plenty of trees. In the Pioneer area there is also 4 small shelters, picnic tables, fire pits, and porta potties facilities. If things go well this time we might try to make it a two night hang next year, if any is interested come on down and enjoy the evening. Also you can go to the state parks webpage located at the bottom of the page to see a little about the park.
Hope we have several to attend and if you have any questions just ask.
Thanks
