Strangely enough, that sage advice also applies to DIY haircuts as well... or so I've heard

Quick Quiz: what's the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut...

... about two weeks. (again, this from hearsay... yeah, that's the ticket).

She been laughing at me for the past couple hours, well deserved on her part.
If you haven't already, you might enjoy reading or listening to some Patrick McManus stories. You two seem soul mates with respect to the matrimonial arena!

Thanks for sharing your good story!

count me in on those who have had some humbling experiences on the PTI from the wife. She has sewn, knitted, crochet, cross-stitched, quilted, appliqued, in addition to weaving. When I told her that I was going to work on a DIY backpack and quilt, she was a bit skeptical, but allowed me to 'learn on my own' a good bit.
Ditto on the 'You're probably right' kind of warning; when you hear that you should be watching carefully for what comes next.
Down south there are folks who will greet such events with a sincere-sounding 'Why bless your heart.' when what they are really saying is, 'I cannot believe you don't know better than that!'
