I really start to feel that i don't spend enough time here in the thread.
It not because i am lazy or lost interest in the trip

I simply don't have time for family / house / and the thread.

So, if someone want's to step forward and take charge of the thread, don't be shy

I sincerely think that the thread / trip would benefit if someone did that,
since it's only weeks left and the thread is almost dead

There might be some confusion about the dates, if you havn't followed the thread closly.

The original dates looked like this:

Date = 22 July - 25 July
Time = 10.00
Place = Klara mälarstrand close to Stadshusbron. MAP
We will back @ Stockholm C = 25 July @ 15.33


But then Swede invited us to a BBQ on the 22 July.
So then the paddeling would start on the 23 July,


The BBQ means :
We will leave Stockholm = 22 July
We will start paddling = 23 July (22 before)
We will be back at stockholm = 26 July (25 before)

Btw, my vacation starts on Wednesday and I am off until July 30. I read the thread whenever there are posts, but I'm a bit cautious about taking any kind of planning responsibility. On the one side, my goals for this trip may be a bit different than most, and there should be a spontaneous feel to a Skaho, as I understand it, and I have a tendency at overplan.

I agree about the canoes. (head count plz)
I also think that goes for the boat (Stockholm - Mariefred). (head count plz)

And i also agree if you step up and give this trip / thread some life and new blood .

I really appreciate your concern for the rebel feeling in the SKAHO trips
But, you are the only one that expressed strong feelings about this trip , so i can't really see someone else doing it ?

I think it would be great if you got the time ?


I am going to phone both SJ (train) and the boat Mariefred tomorrow and ask them if you can bring bicycles onboard. (Kind of a request)

As i wrote a few weeks back, i´ll not be able to join the steamboat
trip. But i need a canoe reservation

If there are others who cant make it in time for the departure then
let me know! If needed i can meet up with people and travel to
Mariefred together with the Bus/train.

I think we should also decide if we want the walk of 10km to the boat landing or if we want to reserve a minibus taxi. Head count for this as well.

Sorry mate, i don't think you can bring your bike !

It was no problem to bring the bike on the Mariefred boat (cost = 20sek).
But the Swedish trains (SJ) stop taken bikes some years ago when they switched to more modern wagons

So, you can get the bike down to Mariefred by boat and
bike back to Stockholm if that's an option.
