???Suspension systems for canyon country (Lake Powell)

Anyone successfully hang their hammock in the Lake Powell, UT Area?

Was thinking of bringing a few climbers nut/stoppers like these:

and maybe make a couple 20' web straps to go around large boulders.

    Ideas, suggestions welcome.

    Pretty challenging place.

    Thanks

    Hey there!

Kinda like we discussed a little bit - I'm going to try hanging at least one end from my Jeep roof rack and see how it does... I like your thinking about using climbing nuts/friends for wedging in boulders/canyon walls???

    Should be an interesting discussion!

I carry a size 4, a size 5, and a size 6 for just that type of hang. Not too heavy, and I have had success using them in various rock applications. Grand Canyon might be my most scenic use, but Sequoia would be right up there also.

    Hi JL,
I'm not going to get my hopes up, but a hammock, 3/4 S-UQ and a few rock climbing tools is such a small package to stuff in the kayak
I just got to bring them in case that perfect hanging place presents its self.
I do plan to bring my 1 man tent.

Thanks for the suggestion on sizes.
Sure hope I can hang at least one night.
