Mohican Memorial State Forest - Ohio

Are there any camp spots that are decent over at Mohican Memorial that are fairly quick to get to (within a mile or two hike)? That looks to be about the closest place to where I am going to end up.

Hey buddy, www.backpackohio.com. Click on mohican and there's a good description and pictures of every site. I'm pretty sure he has an etrails map for it too. Its work the $6 or so. His maps are very detailed, descriptive, and easy to read.

there is all kinds of great places to hang at the primitive camp areas. drive to the primitive site areas of #8, #9, #10. i have been camping there since 1991 and hammock camping for the last 3 years there. #9 and #10 are the best. #10 is the farthest from the parking area but its probably not even a 1/2 mile distance. part of the mountain bike trail runs thru there also. if you want to be away from everybody and secluded and free of charge go to those sites. you will love it there!

Are the numerical sites you mention the triangles with numbers on the map HERE? Or am I missing something? Theres very few camp site icons on that map but the main site says they have "10" camp sites?

Yes, each site is marked by the white triangle symbol with the number inside.
You can also see the parking area near each group of sites.
Sites 1,2,3,4 = parking area is to the South or use Bridle staging area.
Sites 5 & 6 = parking area just to the North.
Site 7 = park at Bridle staging area.
Sites 8,9,10 = parking just to the North
