Can't believe no one's mentioned Shug's classic, "Slooooooow Moooootiiiiiooooonnnn" demonstration of the marlin spike hitch starting at 3:56

Also, the Marlin Spike Hitch needs to to be loaded from the correct side. Load from the wrong side and you will pull the knot through and very tight. So that it is difficult to pull out.

I watched shugs video today-----------so funny!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

For future reference, any other knots you ever need to know, just search for them on youtube (or google for picture instructions). I'm fairly certain every knot ever invented can be found in about five seconds that way!

If Shug ain't right then I don't wanna be either!
If you don't try due to fear of failure you've already failed due to fear.

    I love this knot!

I use it for moving canoes, hauling heavy tools from my woodshop, attach it to a tarp then load the tarp with wood, then haul to fire pit. I love this knot and I learned about it here! Thanks!

    Michael

Oh, yeah, I use it on my straps for my whoopie slings as well.........
That which does not kill me has made a grave tactical error.

True, but they won't be nearly as entertaining as the Shug!!!

    Whats the correct side?
If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.
