It is indeed and I am sure that there will be the token "pretty mouth" and "squeal like a pig" reference while we are up there

thats why I stay there so much, its hard not to fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the banjo.

Pudden is interested... but doesn't want to make a firm commitment with work being so hectic, but more than likely yes. LOVE Burrells Ford.

Hey Swampfox, you planning to carry your dutch ovens with you? I know jim and I are planning to do some dutch oven cooking on this outing so we may not hike as far in. Maybe a communal pot luck dinner for saturday evening? I know jim is intending to get there early friday morning to get a good close site on the river but if we do the communal meal maybe getting a site with a table might be a good idea. I will discuss with jim (WFR).

    My favorite spot...

For the "family" campers, Burrells Ford campground is a great place. It's at most 1/2 mile hike in down a gravel truck road that is very wagon (and rolling cooler) friendly. I go to Burrells Ford with the family and take in firewood and gear on a wagon. Bathrooms (outhouse style) are at the campground for the less "woodsy" folks. No showers. Great hikes all around.

I head north up the Chattooga when it's just the guys, to almost the same campsite in the OP.

I'm way too lazy for that.
I'm looking at this as a backpacking trip. Even if you get a close site, it's a good 10 minute walk. That's a long way to carry tables, cast iron, and such.

I was thinking I'd have Babelfish5 Beef Stroganoff one night and maybe re-hydrate some homemade chili on the other. I haven't decided yet on dessert.

I'm looking forward to sitting around a fire with a bunch of friends I've never met. The best way to do that is camp sorta in the same area and the best place for that is going to be near the bridge.
