I looked at about 10 pages on the BPL gear swap, but didn't see a full 4 season tent. I'll keep my eyes open. Looks like all the tents you listed are 2 person. Would you go 3 if one came available?

www.campmor.com,,has a couple of 4 season tents on sale..years ago,,before you had alot of manufactures,,in the higher elevations of Colorado,,I used a simple Eureka Timberline for 2..for quite a few years,,now my go to tent is another simple Nano Elite,,2lbs 8oz..and have used it in above timberlines in deep snow and high winds..what I try and do is pick when i can...a spot to pitch that might offer a dash of protection from the direction the wind is coming from,,even if its beside a rock outcropping or a large rock of sorts. And,,,I always rock down a small tarp using the treking poles for a lean too over the tent when I think I can get away with that..theres all kinds of ways to set up in the winter..it just takes a little imagination and inginuity for comfort.

I'd consider a 3 for the right deal... hard to resist a smoking deal ya know?

Yeah, I've been watching Geartrade, for example, and pretty much everything on there has been 4 man tents, which is way overkill for me.

Another tent to add to the list of possibles might be a TarpTent Scarp 2 with the fabric inner option and crossing poles. Just a thought. I have had fun looking at the tents you mentioned. That Hilleberg Jannu looks really nice, though now I am jazzed to see the Hilleberg Anjan 3 coming out in Spring '12 (3 season).

You could just build an igloo.
