    What Level Of Compression?

I know that Idealy down is stored hung, completely uncompressed. I am wondering what level of compression is acceptable for storage. For instance, in a sealed plastic bag that is very large, or in a chest with other items. Not truly compressed, but confined. Not all of us have large garages to hang multiple quilts, and the quilts hanging around my room make for bad clutter

I know a lot of down bags come with a large stuff sack for storage. You'd probably want something like that. A trash bag is the right size, but I'd think you'd want something breathable.

I store some of mine hung but also some in a king size pillow case, just sitting on a shelf. The king size cases are plenty large such that they don't compress the down. Just go to Walmart, etc and buy the cheapest ones they have.

Or if you need more, buy a cheap top sheet and make several.

+1 on the large mesh laundry bags from the dollar store. We use one per quilt.

I'd just hang them on the wall. That much better home insulation!

You could always make a big stuff sack from tulle.

While I certainly don't recommend, condone, or would ever dream of doing so myself, I have heard of people that left their down compressed for long periods of time (months to years) and when they finally pulled them out they relofted fine, just took longer and a bit more fluffing.
