There was recently a thread about this same thing. Use the seach option for "hennessy vs warbonnet" if that doesn't work, try google searching it.

I don't know why some people try and stir things up like that. Oh well, in case anyone was wondering, the correct answer is whichever one you like better.

Randy : yea but just remember yer roots and where ya come from....you got Hennessy in yer blood son......

When I was first looking to buy a camping hammock I did a lot of research and based on videos, reviews and recommendations, I went the Warbonnet Route. I liked the overall design and features. I wasn't worried about buying a Warbonnet because if I didn't like it I knew I could sell it for near to its new value.

Both are great pieces of gear and the Warbonnet Blackbird is probably the most popular hammock around but comfort is a personal thing.

    Personally, I'm a Hennessy Man.

I've laid in both. Remarkably similar, once you've found the sweet spot.

However, I much prefer the ease of set up with the Hennessy Hammocks. No fiddle factor. No Tarp hassles. Easy take down......Minimalist Hammocking in my view, and one I enjoy.

I've owned both a bottom entry (Expedition) and a Zip (Hyperlite) and I must admit I prefer the Zip model.

I'm not saying I'll never own a WBBB, but it's just not where I'm going at the moment....

I'm sure you'll enjoy which ever one you decide on!

your geographic location is a factor.

many if not most of the forum members seem to be located in climates cooler than us in the south. search youtube and you'll see tons of instructive videos and reviews focusing at least in part on how well the various hammocks perform in cooler to blistering cold weather.

i like the eno for warmer weather climes. ridge line bug nets are easy enough to use if bugs are an issue.

    cheers,

    sv-

I have both, and like both. I've used the WBBB exclusively since I bought it, but really I'd have no issue using my HH again.
Hh: hammock set in a bag. Lower priced. Ready to use. Difficult to use suspension system. Standard tarp is too small, recommend puchasing a larger tarp, either from hh or elsewhere. You can buy the hammock without a tarp if you want, if you buy direct from hh. Included ridgeline organizer is nice for small stuff. Choice of bottom or zipper entry (or both if you buy a bottom and get a 2qzq mod). Reasonable view from inside.
Wb: a little pricey. Good suspension options (strap is easiest to use). Tarp not included, but they sell some great units. Tarps do not include rigging. Shelf is great for storing larger, light objects. No small item organization. Visibility out of hammock a little restricted due to high fabric on the sides.

I converted both to whoopie sling suspension. It was easier with th WB. Really you can't go wrong with either. If you can try before you buy you'll be in a better position to choose. I bought the HH years ago because a local outdoor store had one on display. Bought the WB this year after reading HFs. I'm still not decided which hammock I Like more. I can say for sure I like the Superfly from WB much more than either of my Hennesey tarps, standard and hex.
