Yes, I knew about potential for condensation but was cold one night in my tent so I decided to test out the space blanket. Woke up a few hours later soaked. The Atom handled it great. Never lost loft even though the outside seemed to be soaked through. I am definitely more cautious about using it now!
Thanks!
Mike
Welcome from a fellow scouter. Troop 423 in Durham for me. What troop are you with?
Flannery, welcome to HF. This is a great place with lots of great folks to learn the ropes.
Welcome aboard.
I sure hope you got some tree huggers to use and not wrapping just rope around the trees.

Lows in the 60s should be OK with one or the other warming techniques. I always have trouble putting a mattress in the hammock with me, I just move around too much. I have been thinking about getting a bag with an integrated sleeve for the pad---has anyone tried this? So far my most comfortable has been to flip over my HB no see em and put the pad in between the layers. It does not move, but I can't do this when there are bugs.
Hi fellow scout. I have been a leader with scouts 7 years. my son is 18 now but he, his girlfriend, and my 14 year old daughter are all in BSA Venture Crew, so the fun just keeps going. My first all night hang was at summer camp three years ago. I want to put together a winter rig for jan. polar bear.

Welcome from a fellow NC hanger. You may want to consider an overnight hang in the back yard or a local park before your overnight trip with the scouts.
