think i got the wrong rope, its rob line, its 4mm braided 12 strand dyneema but it has a poly core. any guess if this will work for whoopies ?

My guess is no. You won't be able to splice it like Amsteel, which is a single braid with no core.
No, you need hollow braid unfortunately.
Would be Ok for the ridgeline though, if a bit overkill.
Are you sure you have described this correctly?
There's a Robline rope that is a 12 strand hollow core blend of Dyneema 75 and nylon. And for nautical use, sheathing of high strength cores is common. Should you somehow have an unusual product with a closed cell foam core (for flotation?), you would strip it out.

yea mabey i'll use it for a ridge line ,though i was planing on rigging a single line suspension. my own fault shoulda been more careful. 15$ penalty and 28 ft of rope i have no use for. .
I'll repeat:
Give the exact spec. If it is double braid and the exterior is Dyneema, I'll see if I can find it and get a handle on how much of the strength is the outer braid after the inner core is stripped.
Useless?
No. I don't expect trees to be closer than 14 feet apart and have spliced long permanent loops through the channels. Which means the other lines can be shorter.
Or they might be elements of tree straps you leave in place in a back yard after you take a hammock down. That speeds up late night last-minute hanging.
And here's an example of rope, maybe like yours.
SSR light is a 12 strand PP multifilament core with a 16 braid mix dyneema sk75/ nylon cover.
The core does not do much in the way of strength all it does is help keep the line round.
So to splice it one does not need to do a full core to core splice. As the dyneema is the major load carrying part of the line and it is in the cover . All you do is pull some core out either end and cut it. Then splice the covers and whip.
Exactly the same as splicing the marlow excel control.

So, again, if you can find the specs and your line matches this SSR, you can likely safely strip out the core.
thanx demostix ill try to get the specs today.
