Sawbill was a nice put-in. The loop we took seemed to be pretty popular, there was a surprisingly large amount of traffic. Not a problem, just seemed like we saw a lot more people than we did last year.

Thanks Bubba, the marathon was tough, glad its over. We were just talking about going to Algonquin next year, I haven't been there in 10 years or so. Loved it there tho'.

Congratulations on the marathon and thanks for a great report/vid/pics. Looking forward to our trip next week through Sawbill. We had planned a similar itinerary up and through Cherokee, but our itinerary got shortened due to recent emergency abdominal surgery. I grudgingly got the ok from my surgeon to go up provided we limit portaging (ie no lifting for me). So just a short walk to Alton Lake and base camping. Ah, well. At least I am still able to go. Beautiful's brother is flying in from Hawaii for his second trip to the BWCA, and my brother is meeting us from Colorado for his first return to the BWCA in more than 20 years. Both boys will be hangin' (one JRB BMBH, and one WBBB), and Beautiful and I are taking the party tent (a GoLite SGL-5 pyramid). Never fear for us groundlings though, WV's polyester GE is going along with me as a "lounger"!

Thanks for making me even more excited to get up there.

    Enjoyed your TR. Very beautiful.
I so wanted to make a yak trip to the BW this year but could not swing the gas price for a round trip from CO. Being retired and on a fixed income I just spent to many bucks on hammocks and related gear this year. I hope to make it next.
