For those that didn't make it last year, here is the link to last year's trip report.
After looking all this food, I don't see how anyone could resist!

I have been waiting patiently for you guys to post this event Trying to put together a small posse from SC to come and visit our hangin' compadres in the Sunshine State . Right now we have talked about the event but have been waiting to hear the final details as they develop.
Will be watching this thread on a daily basis . . . and excited to see it is in the planning stages now . . .

Count me in!! Been waiting for weeks to see this thread pop up. Now to pick the date so we all can start counting down the days!!
Gumbo & I are in! (you probably already guessed that...)
Where? Is Buck Lake going to be big enough? As I remember we were at capacity last year. And once people see last year's trip report, everybody will want to come! Ocala Nat'l Forest does seem pretty central and not so far south that it would become hard for our snowbound buds to come too.
When? MLK weekend would be a good idea - IMHO.
Thanks Flackfizer for getting this party started!!

So many trees, so little time...
Hey everyone! The weather starts to cool off after Labor Day so it's not too long from comfortable sleeping nights.
I'd like to consider other locations. Buck Lake was great but FL has so many different perspectives I think we can offer a unique experience every time we do one of these shindigs. Big Cypress is nothing like Ocala is nothing like the Suwanneee is nothing like Apilachicola is nothing like....
I'm cool with Buck Lake too if thats where it is. I ordered a hammock and tarp for "the Admiral" a few weeks ago so, depending on schedule, I might be able bring her as well.

At lunch time today, I went back and read all 21 pages of last year's trip report. WOW!
Mysteriously, something kept getting in my eye causing it to tear up. Uh-hum.
Now that I have regained my composure, I just want to say that certain events imprint an idelible memory - and this was one of them!

Looking forward to it! Any larger group spots near Buck Lake?
Who: I'm in!
Where: Doesn't matter.
When: +1 on MLK weekend.
And +1 on some group hangs before that.
Ocala is good for me. I'll take a look at my map of it tonight after work and see if maybe there's a larger campsite available in the area.
MLK weekend is perfect for me; it means that neither my wife nor I need to take time off to go.
As to who, well, yeah...
