my vote is definitely for the Trucker's Hitch.

Always a good one when trying to keep things taut. I keep most of mine slippery for a quick teardown or re-tightening though.

Ray Mears favourite knot; the Evenk hitch

Can be tied wearing mittens or with very cold hands. Works with amsteel too.

The soloman bar is made of different cordage, is small and slides along adjustable loop of the whoopie sling. Once the sling is on the MSH then you can slide the soloman bar up to the MSH to keep the adjustable end from opening up and slipping off.

In Grizz's video at 3:00 minutes he talks about using a whipping knot but you could also use a small solomon bar instead.

In this video, imagine the black cordage is the adjustable loop of the whoopie. Just make the bar a little shorter.

I learned a knot from my father-in-law 25 years ago when brook trout fishing in the Great North Woods of maine. We tied our canoes the truck ladder racks and after hundreds of miles of jarring around on logging roads I finally asked how to tie the knot he was using...turns out it was the "trucker's hitch." I never knew the name but attest to the knot. Thanks for a refresher lesson pinkgrips236.

    LUMBER,

Back in March some friends and I took 3 14' kayaks down to Florida. Kept bow and sterns rigged with trucker's hitches.

We wound up hitting sleet and high winds from PGH down to SC, so I'm pretty sold on it as well.

I dont know what I did. Attached is the method for securing a sail, knots for attaching two lines, square lasing (I left out a few steps). I cannot get tripod lashing to upload.
