he probably didnt add any material to the TQ, from the looks of it. i didnt to mine. id say using insulation on the UQ would be the best bet for warmth and ease since itll make a shell with the PL when its folded over

Ok so here is what I did, right or wrong.
I bought some high loft quilting batting. Stuck that on 1 half of the PL and then folded the PL over itself. Now you can fold it along its length or width. I laid down on top of mine to determine which I preferred. You may find some batting that fits better but what I used was Poly-Fil Extra Loft 45in- x 60 in. This required some trimming of the batting to fit.I used Grosgrain for the edging. I sewed the foot box. You should look into putting a draw cord on the end so that you could dual purpose your PL. I bought 2 so I decided to dedicate 1 for a UQ and the other for a TQ. I am very new to the DIY on sewing so I needed the practice. Thank goodness that you cant blow these pictures up enough to see my seems.
If you decide for a UQ I found it easy enough to thread my shock cord after I sewed my grosgrain on the PL. I used 1 1/2 black for the job. I also used about 20' of shock cord on the PLUQ.
Hope that helps.
