The "competition" is more in their business philosophy: socially conscious hammock capitalism.

I think there are other hammock manufacturers out there that have a "giving back" philosophy or program -- can anyone help me remember all of them?

From JRB's establishment it has been "Giving Back" through its pioneering program of advertisement leadership on Hammock related forums and Raffle program donations to both Whiteblaze and Hammockforums, The American Hiking Society, The Appalation Trail Conservancy, the Continental Devide Trail Alliance, as well as more recently, the AT museum at Pine Grover Furnace State Park. Support of these organizations and our hammock community totals well over $6,000 to date.

Thanks for stepping up Pan.
It would appear that some would paint your company as being nothing short of hedge fund managers while in reality your company gives back in ways that count most to its customers. Not to mention the innovation and evolution of your products is based upon feedback of its customers and personal testing rather than a "research project".

I appreciate your comments and concerns about my company. I currently live and work alongside organizations in the Dominican Republic that help the poor, so my perspective and "heart" for the poor is translated in how I run my business.

There are many great hammock companies out there, Jacks 'R' Better included, but my focus remains on giving customers quality, affordable products while helping the poor because it is my passion and I have seen the need firsthand.

Thanks for the input and I would love to answer any questions you might have in the future.
