Hi Everyone,
First time poster but been lurking for a while....long enough to be almost complete with my DIY WBBB (9ft version).
Everything's been going great so far due to the amazing wealth of info from everyone. I've test hung several times; the body is complete, the ridgeline is set, with only the but net install remaining.
Before I attach the bug net I just wanted to get some advice. I roll-hemmed every edge of this hammock so far (including side panels) and I'm wondering if I should do the same with the bug netting in order for things to be properly tight or should I just cover the raw bug netting and roll-hemmed hammock body edges with gross-grain and just stitch away?
Thanks!

P.S. Thanks for the wealth of information from everyone! It's been a great help and has allowed me to build something I'm quite proud of so far.

I completed my DIY 1.1 DL hammock based on the Symibird 8 ft. plans. Still need to put the bugnet on, but I had a couple of questions related to the way the hammock hung with and without a ridgeline. I posted an update at the following location along with some pics.

I'd appreciate any feedback about the hammock before I start with the bugnet installation. Excuse the spelling error on "Symingbird" instead of "Symibird".
Thanks.

I've read every post in this thread and it seems that length is the biggest concern. So for some reassurance I will ask this: I'm 5'6" so I should try the 8ft right?
Thanks for the reply Jazilla! I couldn't wait to install the bugnet so I just dug in like I've done with the the rest of this hammock.
I ended up not hemming the edge on my bugnet and it worked out just fine including the raw bugnet edge in the grossgrain with the hemmed hammock edges.
Thanks to everyone for all the help in the form of both questions and replies in this and other threads! I love this hammock and look forward to many wilderness nights within it's walls....on to the DIY Superfly
For those wondering about what size to build...I'm 6'4" and 225 lbs. I followed the pattern for the 9ft hammock in this thread and it fits me perfectly.
Sorry for such a late response. I am having trouble accessing the forum at work. I am glad that it worked out for you so well. Enjoy that hammock.
