I have tried it in my DIY bridge. It was a little large for the dimensions of my first bridge, but should work better in my next one. For what it's worth, it is the most comfortable and warm pad I have used as a groundling though certainly heavier as well.

I have the synmat 9 dlx.
Great mat for on the ground.
Tried it 3 nights in a backbird double.
1st night - lots of wiggling and moving, let out some air and it was OK - But I guess I let out a little too much air and woke up again at 4:30am kind of chilly. bundled up and continued sleeping.
2nd night - got the air/comfort ratio and slept great - did have to get up and reshift pad in the middle of the night.
3rd night - same as the second.
The exped pad is REALLY nice in a hammock and great if you have to go to the ground. used it for a week on the ground with the family camping this summer..

I ended up buying a Pheonix - 3season underquilt. I've Only had 1 night in it and it was really nice (only thing that woke me up was the sun at 6:00AM as I was tarpless)

I use an Exped Downmat 7 short in my gathered end DIY hammock and have no complaints. Good backup if you have to go to ground.

Should be a winner in a JRB Bridge pad pocket! Of course, the wide is about 1.6 times heavier than a zero rated JRB MW4, but it would be grand to have if forced to ground.

I have the wide synthetic version of that and it is by far the best money I ever spent on a sleeping pad, never been cold sleeping on the ground.

I do use mine for hammocking also, I don't inflate it though, I just insert it into a mesh pocket with an aluminum space blanket that I built an an UQ, and it keeps me super warm on those really cold nights.

I tend to carry gear that does double duty, tent/hammock camping.

yep, I've used them too. Especially before I made my under quilts. Now I only use/carry them if I know I'll have to spend some time on the ground.

I sometimes carry my exped 9 dlx dam and love it. I've used it in a HH and it's great, but I've never tried it in a double layer hammock.

I can think of no better or more comfortable option if one had to go to ground.

    Used several pads before UQ.

I even bought an Exped Down mat if I 'needed' ( ) to sleep on the ground (or camp cot for that matter )
