    lol@ jima... I'm no handyman, she'd definitely suspect something!

    Yesterday, as part of my basement reorganization process, I hung the hammock from the rafters with some heavy rope. Worked awesome! I need to get the tension a little better, but I slept like a baby. I'll post some pictures soon, it's in my little "man cave" corner, with my workbench and supplies.

    Get a length of PVC and cut it down the middle. That will give you a nice rounded edge that you can put between post and strap. Once tensioned, the straps shouldn't slip and they'll be protected from the edge.

    I'd just wrap something around the posts to soften the edges. Maybe some carpet scraps. It might cut through that after a while too but without the thud of you hitting the ground.
