Sorry gaijin42, I should have been more specific with my comment about the pockets being directed towards hiking, as very few extra clothing items are carried. Yeah, if you have something other than leaves to use for insulation, I can see them working alright. HF member "RAW" made some interesting little down pillows that were created specifically for fitting into the pockets on his Clark. If I remember right, the results were mixed. Good thread if you can find it.

I've also discovered that the Clark hammocks are purely American made.
I'm all for supporting anything American made.
I do believe it's gonna be a Clark on my next outing.
You guys have been a tremendous help. And continue to be so.
Being a long-time professional knife maker, traditional bowhunter, etc., I've often subscribed to the concept that you just really can't make a wrong, first purchase.
Just get one and learn what you don't know and go from there. If the purchase you make is a quality item, it can always be used later or sold to another who might like it as well.

I had a Clark NX 200 and I could sleep on my side relatively easily by laying a bit diagonally. I loved that hammock! Should never have sold it.

Cannibal's advice should be taken to heart! There should be some pretty close group hangs in your area, and the opportunity to actually lie down in and really question the owner of the various brands is invaluable. I was not able to find anything within 200 miles, so I just had to jump in with both feet, taking comments from this and another forum I frequent and respect. Fortunately, it worked well for me. I have heard so much about some of the more talked about brands, that when I finally had the chance to try some of them out, I fully expected to find out I had made a serious mistake. Not true! For me, it actually reinforced my decision to go with the Clark. But like Cannibal said, everyone is different. Try as many brands as you possibly can with an open mind, THEN make your decision.

There, THAT should put your poor mind in a turmoil!

I have most every maker's hammock and I much prefer my Clarks. I am probably one of the few here that loans my WBBB to others to sleep in while I use one of my Clarks.
