    Heard of This? Hatteras Hammocks?

I haven't been able to find this hammock on their official site yet. Anyone else heard of this company?

They are based out of Greenville, NC I forget where the factory is it is close to my house though. They make some really nice rope hammocks I have one in my backyard now. I dont think they are the same company though One is Hatteras Hammocks this one seems to be made by Hatteras outfitters.

I thought they only did rope hammocks.
hm... I guess they are branching out. It seems this hammocking thing is starting to catch on.

Looks interesting and at $75 with the bug netting, could be a value for a start up option. It's seems heavy but the listed weight could be with the biners and tree straps. If the biners that come with it are those HD biners like ENO uses...

My parents have one of their backyard style hammocks with frame and spreaders. It's a really great and comfy hammock of that style.

At 2.75 lbs I don't see their camping hammock as a great deal.

yeah I really don't think they are the same company though almost every thing they do other than the Brazil hats has duracord in it, including the rugs they make. i think Hatteras Outfitters is a different company altogether. The parent company http://thehammocksource.com/ lists all the things they make.

Yeah, it looks like Hatteras outfitters it is a privately owned, separate company that primarily makes fishing gear. I have read a lot of complaints from people who say the company has disappeared completely. But then I went on the Hatteras Hammocks Facebook page and asked about the hammock and they claim that it is their product. In fact, they asked if I bought it, to post a review of it and promised my satisfaction guaranteed. It was labelled wrong? Maybe Hatteras Hammocks bought the name Hatteras Outfitters as a new camping line of hammocks? I don't know, I was planning on buying this hammock; is it worth the risk?

Hatteras Hammocks has been around forever and makes fine respected products.

Hatteras Outfitters is a new one on me. I doubt they're affiliated at all, probably trading on the good name of Hatteras...

    Don't think I trust 'em.

+1 on Hatteras Hammocks and their rope hammocks.

The one in the picture looks like a Hammock Bliss:

About the right price point. I wonder if it is a case of a contract manufacturer doing some side work.
