    Hello from Greenville, SC

Hey fellow hikers! Found your site from the Whiteblaze site. Lots of great info here.

I started hiking in the spring to loose weight. So far I've lost 65 lbs and hooked on hiking. Usually do 2 or 3 day hikes once a week. Did the Foothills trail in July and have been planning to do the AT in 2012. Working on getting my gear together and keeping it light.

My current set-up is the Grand Trunk Nano 7 and really like the comfort and small weight/volume. Been using a Wally World camping tarp but am going to search the threads to help pick a better fly for the AT. OES looks really good.

I made my tree slings but also want to replace those with something light that will last the whole trip. Prefer to go with an adjustable strap.

Anyway looking forward to reading posts and having fun here. Good luck everyone! Jeff in SC

welcome to the madness from up the coast.

OES makes some great tarps. Nothing but high praise from everyone who gets one.

Congratulations on the weight loss, I need to lose about a hundred, lost ten so far the last month. I want to replace my blue wally tarp, the noha 12 maybe and add an under quilt. You won't go wrong with the OES. Good luck on the AP, I hope to get there after a few lbs.

Welcome aboard from Florida. That is the one of the first rules of hammock camping. "Never be satisfied with what you have." Enjoy the fun.
