If we headed up there today, I would have missed the Hillsboro REI gear sale! Now I'm all set with a new warmer sleeping bag for next weekend's trip. (Anyone else at the sale today?)

I believe Silverlion and I are running out there tomorrow to get the mile marker and good directions.

NE / Laurelhurst area. The hard part was finding a place! Compared to that, actually moving was easy--except that I only just got connected to the Internet tonight.

OK so we did some running around and looking.
The big question is do we want to have a camp fire..
If we want a camp fire we need a real campground due to fire restrictions.
If we don't care about campfire...

I think I got enough smoke in my lungs on the last trip to last the rest of the year. Bringing a canister stove this time. I'm fine with not having a camp fire.

I can't wait! It doesn't matter to me. Fire or no fire. We scouted a couple of campgrounds. They are first come first served so to get sites close together, a few of us will need to get there kind of early. If we go to the first dispersed site we looked at, I'll buzz out early and snag it. I just want to hang and shoot the bull with y'all.

Cool. So, how are the roads in? Dirt, gravel, loose gravel? Trying to decide whether to take the bike or the car.

Or, perhaps somebody wants to carpool from Portland?

All the roads to either of the sites or campgrounds are all dirt/ loose gravel.

Edit: Just got word that we have one that would prefer a campfire if possible.
