I see double mentioned by different hammock manufacturers. Does it mean double thickness of the material or double width of the hammock. Just trying to educate myself in hammock vernacular, thanks.

All my morning aches and pains went away when I discovered hammock camping!
It implies more room. IE: A two person hammock. Myself being a bigger person like the doubles as opposed to the singles for comfort.
Look up before you hook up!!

usually, it references that it can handle 2 people because the width is wider. I have an ENO double, i finally settled on after going back and forth with that and a single. to me, the wider hammock means a flatter lay because of a more diagonal angle.
and it does not necessarily mean its actually double the width.
most of the camping hammocks like Warbonete are considered single, only because theyre designed for 1, even if the material width is close to a double (not sure about the measurements, just sayin)
where in SC are you?

A warbonnet blackbird "double layer" means two layers of nylon.

Or another way that the word is used; is to state that there are 2-sheets of material.
As an example: Warbonnet Blackbird 1.7oz DOUBLE.
(It has 2 layers of 1.7oz/sq. yard main material)
I ride a recumbent.
I like to HAM it up on the CW.
I use Linux.
I play go.
Of course I sleep in a hammock!
Rug.
Hang On!
