    Info on Nantahala Headwaters Loop

Several friends and I going to take this (http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1118043) loop the beginning of Oct. We plan on leaving after work that evening and will be arriving at the TH late that night and spending the night at the TH. Are there any campsites close by? We are starting at the Standing Indian Campground and making the loop counter clockwise, we will take the Long Branch Trail to the AT and follow the AT to the Lower Ridge Trail back to the car. I know we are going to be passing several shelters: Big Spring Shelter, Carter Gap Shelter, and Standing Indian Shelter. Are there plenty of campsites between the shelters? If so can I get the coordinates if you have them. How many water sources are on this loop? Is it in abundant or do we need to plan on taking a lot of water with us? We were also talking about fly fishing in a few of the streams and was curious about how the fishing was. Are there any other points of interest along this trail such as water falls and etc? Thanks in advance for the help!!

I'll be there Oct 20-23 but I'm going with someone who knows the area well so I can't jump in with a lot of information but I can add a link to Ron Haven's hand drawn map of the campground and Kimsey Creek trail up to the AT. Apparently it's easy to get turned around and get off track.

Search for Standing Indian Loop when you are looking for info. That is the more common description of that hike.

Wait, your info has you taking Long Branch and not Kimsey from Standing Indian Campground to the AT. My map won't apply in that case.
