I went with earth tones as well. However, I realized after the gf pointed it out that I picked pretty much only green. But, it's still awesome and atleast I don't have a hot pink hammock like my lady does.

I color coordinate my top and under quilts
I color coordinate my quilts to complement my hammock and tarp
I coordinate everything (including my slings/straps, etc)
I have NO fashion sense--never had it, never will

I think my favorite color is the "coyote brown" that is often shown in pics. Nice earth tone, doesn't make it all green. For whatever reason, this color does not seem to be available.
Thanks for all the replies. Anyone want to show off some pics of their "color coordinating" sense (or lack thereof)?
My fashion sense can be summed up by a For Better or For Worse comic strip from a Sunday some 20ish years ago. It has John and Elly discussing his wardrobe, which she, of course is appaled at. He looks himself over and says he thinks he is a fine match. She replies: "You're wearing stripes [shirt] with checks [slacks] and dots [tie]--how can you say you match?!?" John's response is a confused: "But it's all blue." That is me in a nutshell.

I try for all earth tones, but I'll use whatever I can get. Just a habit I guess, trying to blend in.
No pink, no purple.
Anything else is fair game as long as it works.
Trust nobody!
I like to color coordinate so It's easy to the eye which quilts are which. Plus I just think its prettier to the eye.

Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.
Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.
When I ordered a TQ and UQ together I got the same color. But really I don't worry about it. I don't have any bright colors with my camp set up but my primary day pack is orange.
Picking colors can be fun or practical. You can do what you like with it. That's what's so great about it.
i just ordered a synth King Size TQ from Wilderness Logics in royal purple.
i think it will compliment my coyote brown UQ and my black Night Owl covered by my tan Tadpole.

It also helps to tell top quilts from underquilts. Use four different colors. You could find a third shade of green for your summer TQ. Then use gray for the winter TQ. Of course, I like the two sides of my TQ to be different colors, so you could do that, too. Then, also it's sometimes tricky telling the head end of a quilt from the foot end, so .... (How many colors are we up to?)
