This thread reminds me of one of my favorite adages:

My greatest fear in this world is that I die before my wife and she sells all my stuff for what I told her I paid for it.

    Along this line of thinking...

Tell her you've narrowed down your next hobby to two choices and that you will let her decide for you.

    Hammocks OR Hookers

    Her choice!

SlimJim - You missed the chance to say, Honey, do you now how much money I saved? This stuff was on sale!!
    You gotta speak her language.

I have completely re-outfitted myself these past months. Now my missus jokes about how all the camping and canoeing stuff I have gotten over the last 18 mos is just my mid-life crisis. She had learned, though, that I need my wilderness trips to blow off the pressures of work and stuff.

Next, I am going to have her teach me how to sew...

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones as well since I haven't really spent a great deal of $$$ on my hang setup. Most of my stuff have been DIY'ed and reusing existing items I already had.

Among all of my other hobbies, she likes this one. Wish I could've said the said the same thing when it came to my RC Crawling hobby, Golf, Paintball, and Off-Roading. Can't really do a whole lot of DIY for those...maybe the RC thing but the rest have earned me the dog house on quite a few occasions

Why wait.... every bit of information you need is right here on the forums. Then you can do the fabric store crawl together. Flamingo and I have found a lot of fabric for each other over the years.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Great replies! LOL! As several folks here who have hung with me before can attest, I have some 'stuff'.

Just tell here that you are waiting until you find a 'his' n 'hers' hammock set-up for camping. The prospect of woods, dirt, and bugs will more than likely put her off. Then you can just say, well, you don't have to camp with me, then. And she will be relieved when you only buy ONE tarp and ONE hammock! LOL!

I have a big SUV with tons of stuff in it. I just have new stuff sent to work, and toss it in the back with everything else. No way to tell what might be new or not. Always ready for the Zombie Apocalypse that way.

    Need....more....stuff.....
