A day of firsts

Had a bit of free time today, and about 12 ft of extra Amsteel lying around so I made my FIRST whoopie sling! Turns out 12 ft was a perfect length to make an adjustable sling 100-120 inches which is exactly what I needed to add my FIRST ridgeline to my ENO DN.

Now I see why people rave so much about having a ridgeline, with about 3 adjustments I was hanging more comfortably than I ever had.

But that's not all, while getting into my hammock I was so excited about trying my new ridgeline that I forgot to use a slippery half hitch next to my rings & straps and so set myself up for my FIRST hammock fall

It was a good day.

My first hammock fall was the other day. I made the cliche mistake of not checking my MSHs and my whoopies just slipped off.

Maybe you just remembered the slippery but forgot the half hitch?

My first fall occured on my first hang....using cheap cargo straps 'cause i was to pumped to wait and get a better set. Forget 'Haste makes waste" Haste makes a sore butt!

I wasn't long taking my bruised backside to Canadian Tire and getting a set of 2500 lb rated straps. Been hangin' high and happy ever since!
