Advanced Pathfinder Class with Dave Canterbury in S.Fla

Hey folks, My son and I are attending the Advanced Pathfinder class with Dave Canterbury Oct. 7-10 2011. The absolute location is not disclosed at this time but will be somewhere in or around the Fakahatchee Preserve in South Florida. Looks like there are places open for up to 4 more people. For those who don't know, Dave Canterbury is a co-star on Dual Survivor on the Discovery channel. Dave is the one with the military background and wears boots as opposed to Cody Lundin who has the long hair and goes barefoot all the time. Anyway this is going to be a great opportunity for people to learn some serious bushcraft and outdoor survival skills from a world class instructor. I'm posting the link to his site. Hope to see some of you there. By the way a hammock and mosquito net is recommended gear for this class.

So are you going barefoot? Congrats on what would be a cool trip. I hope you will take a lot of notes for relating the story afterwards... As far as hammocking is concerned, I know that Dave is a big proponent of getting off the ground. Put in a good word for us, will ya?

Really looking forward to this. I have back issues that are getting worse and really want to learn to travel in the woods with only the bare minimum. I think this is the ticket. I've been following Dave for years and finally everything has come together at the right place and time so that I can attend. NO, I am not going barefoot! LOL Save that for Cody!

Sounds like good times. Hope the bugs let up. They are still bad up here in central Fl. that time of year.

If you cover yourself in mud the mosquitoes will ignore you, right?

I can take pictures but not of Dave. No videos allowed at all except by the Pathfinder crew : ( Dave does however post pictures and videos of his classes and posts them to Facebook. I know we have a lot of hangers here in Fla that are into bush craft and survival training. I'd really like to see some of you folks go to this!
