Well, she's not completely done... I need to add shock chord into the end channels to gather them up but other than that it's ready to rock.
I have never tried a bridge before so I decided to make one using a combination of ideas from Grizz and a few others. Nothing to special about this comparatively.
It's 8-10 inches wider than most of the ones I've seen from Grizz which equates to having higher walls and less view while inside as well as making it kind of a pain to get in/out of. I'm not really sure if being wider really aids in anything.
I designed it to use hiking poles exclusively as spreader bars. I'm 5'11" and 165lbs and the poles barely deflect under my weight. It's made of a single layer of 1.1 ripstop and that also holds my weight quite well.
I just got done with the initial test hang and DANG this thing lays flat! It's like laying on a bed. I sleep on my stomach and this thing is great for that which is what I was going for.
I really wanted to do a bugnet but I decided to just go for it without to see if I like it rather than invest the time and money needed to do the net. I wonder if there's a way to do a stand alone net on a bridge?
This is it along with 6' whoopies and 5' tree straps in a small stuff sack I made next to a beer for comparison
