Get the Phoenix. You are overthinking this. It's just a bunch of down that hangs under you.
Remember, cinch it up tight so it picks up the empty hammock about 2 feet. This will give you a snug fit to the bottom of your hammock when you get in. It doesn't look right at first, but you'll understand when you get in.

Another plus to the Phoenix is the channel suspension. Just like the Yeti, you can slide it up or down along the length of the hammock while you're in it. Very nice, works great on the yeti, I'm sure the phoenix will be the same.

Howdy, I'm new to hammocking and know nothing about either quilt . . can I still vote? ;-)
I voted phoenix because you said you already have a pad with you, you do some backpacking, and getting a full length winter UQ would allow you to test out both systems and see what you like better. Then sell and re purchase one of the two if needed.
I love my yeti. Keeps me nice and warm, I just use a cheap foam pad for my leg. The yeti covers me from my neck to the back of my knees, I find it's plenty wide enough for me, and it's very light at only 354 grams including the stuff sack. The foam pad I use for my legs is only 63 grams.

The pros & cons for full length vs 3/4 will always be there & always have advocates for both. For me, comfort is king. I've paid my dues shivering through cold nights camping in tents wishing I'd just brought the heavier sleeping bag so I could just get warm & have SOME sleep.
Since I started hammocking I've really liked being cocooned in warmth and it's nice to have it from head to toe. Hammocking helps my back and I'm sure the overall warmth plays an important part in that too.
I do most of my camping with the car but I'll lug everything that has earned it's place in my rucksack quite happily. I'm neither a gram weenie nor a heavyweight backpacker - like most I'm probably somewhere in the middle. But everything has to earn the right to be in my pack - not gonna lug stuff I rarely use or that doesn't serve it's purpose brilliantly.
My calves deserve to be as warm as the rest of my body and being cold anywhere on the body is uncomfortable. It will rob you of sleep which just makes for an uncomfortable trip. For the small gain in extra weight (and it is small) I figure it's worth it.
Either way you really can't go wrong no matter which one you choose, they're both top quality and will keep you toasty. I guess it really all comes down to weight & bulk...and the difference isn't that great anyway.
