I'm really happy with my Warbonnet Edge tarp in Spinn, it's just the right size to give full coverage (though no extra space), it's very lightweight and small to pack. If you have the budget for a Warbonnet tarp then I'd say go for it, even if you have to wait longer to get it. That way you can buy the tarp once and you won't feel the need to replace your tarp with a "good one" later

If you're on a budget and can trade off some weight & bulk for price, there's a few options that come to mind:
Hennessey Hex (as already recommended) - $59.95
Mosquito Hammock Diamond Fly - $50

If you're ok with a square 10x10 or 8x10 the Etowah tarp can be had for $45-50
    Etowah 10x10 - $49.50

It's hard to beat the Hennessey Hex for price if you don't mind it being a little heavier. It's a good shape for hammocks, provides plenty of coverage and at $60 it's priced well below the lighter hex tarps out there.

Hmm that does seem like a good tarp for a lot less than the next step up. The weight is really the only factor there at 23oz, but ya know the WB Superfly is 19oz and slightly smaller so really that doesn't seem that heavy at all for the size. I think I may go that route.

    Thanks!

Another thing to note is that I'll only have 1 tarp for at least a while so better to have more coverage than I always need than not enough.
The Superfly comes in at $130+shipping but if I could only have one tarp that would be it.

Actually shipping & handling looks to be $15 so total cost would be $65. But for that kind of money you're probably still better off with the Hennessey Hex anyway.

im usually an idiot when it comes to spending, i hem and haw and usually end up buying like, 3 of the same thing to make up my mind.

but when it came to tarps, i knew i couldnt afford to do that, or buy cuben (top o the line) but i wanted VERSATILE, so i looked and ended up on the DigiCam SuperFly.

my thoughts were, if i got the cheaper BMJ there wouldnt be doors, and if i wanted them later id pay more, and possibly not have them when i needed them, or be carrying them all the time which defeats the point.

so in crap or cold weather, i can hunker down with the doors and steep pitch, in better weather then i can pitch it "up" and higher, and in great weather doors over the tarp and in porch mode. it is big, but will cover my butt in all cases.

kelty noah 12'. found it for 50 bucks from sunny sports. packs to a size that I can fit in the palm of my hand, can hang it in a rectangle shape and pull the corners in for doors, or you can hang in in a huge diamond when the weather isn't going to get crazy. it might be a tad heavy but definitely worth the money. my avatar has it hung above my eno dn in the diamond shape.

My mistake. I'd pay $65 for that tarp. That's of course I didn't get a WB Edge first.

I just purchased the exact one from campmor, waiting on it to arrive; not quite in time for my weekend hang tomorrow night... Hopefully it's a decent tarp. If not I sense a diy project in the near future...

I'm looking into the Hennessy Hex myself as a first tarp. Are they cat cut or no? it doesnt specify and I'd really like to know before I buy
