Maybe we can put something together in the near future. I am kind of paranoid to go out by myself for the first time and still am on the fence about going out alone this weekend. We shall see.

    I live in Lititz, PA.

Rausch Gap shelter is a good place to go. There is a spring right at the shelter and several places to hang right around the shelter. If it is too crowed (noisy Boy Scouts) there are some sites right on the trail as you head north on the AT. Look for postings on the site for Hangs in our area.

Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

    Bump!

Any of you guys go up near clarks ferry to hang? There are a few good looking spots along the trail. I didn't know who owns that tract of the AT though.

Add me to the list for trips you are planning and if I can make it work I’d be glad to go along. Our schedule looks very full all the way through Thanksgiving. For me going solo is not so much about paranoia as it it’s the fact that I don’t enjoy the trip near as much without friends to hang out with. I’ve seen GLP and Dutch post the hangs at 501 and hopefully one day I will be able to make the trip up there for one. I had to cancel my last section hike on the AT because everyone was sick but still may try to sneak it in mid November. If you or anyone else is interested send me a PM and let me know.
