    Harrisburg Hangers

I think I've seen a number of Harrisburg, PA hangers around here. I am new to the fray and hoping to get out there this week for the first time but was wondering if you guys wanted to maybe set up some sort of Harrisburg Hang in the near future? Also it would be cool to figure out who else in the area is into hanging and could set up some hikes?

I'm upriver from Harrisburg about 1 hour or so. I don't hike due to mobility issues but there are some gang buster places to hang in my neck of the woods.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I'm always around. You may have seen me and wags hanging in the area. Sometime soon here we will be going out, I will keep you posted. There are others in the area such as myles to go and mph5... probably others that i cant think of now.

If you go up to peters mtn, there is a shelter off the AT about 3 miles in to test your stuff at. Also, about half the way to the shelter, you will come to table rock. There are a few hanging spots there and a great view in the morning. There are alot of people within a few hours hanging, I was just mentioning those that are in the immediate harrisburg area that i knew of

I'm in! That's a challenging climb up from Clarks Ferry to the Clarks Ferry Shelter, but the views both north and south are NICE!

I'm in Lititz, 1/2 hour away. I usually head north to Bethel but have good memories snowshoeing from Duncannon east/north on the AT.
There will be a fall hang in October down the road in Gathland State Park, MD. Harpers Ferry is 15 min by car from Gathland. Check it out here. Hangs are a good way to climb the learning curve on hammocking...plus a lot of good food and company.
