    Hey this is uncle ray

    Hello everyone;
    I'm Ray out of Baltimore MD, originally out of Brooklyn NY. I've camped all of my life, but recently renewed my camping lifestyle after a 15 year break. I jumped in this summer with a seven day camping journey to the Smoky Mountains in Tenn and NC! It was a great experience, and have been getting out as often as possible.
    It was there in the mountains that I learned that a hammock is definately the way to go for me.
    I'm presently digesting all the information I can to make a good and informed selection. I'm narrowing down my selections every day as I learn.
    Presently I'm on the borderline of the following selections:
    1. Clark North American (3 lbs 2oz.)
    2. ENO Double nest with an Equinox UL Tarp and ENO Guardian bug nest (3
    lbs. 4 oz.)
    3. Hennessy Ultralight Backpackers Hammock (1 lb. 15 oz.)

    Any input will be highly welcomed and considered.
    I'm also looking for a nearby camping partner!

    Welcome to the madness! I have a clark north american and an eno double nest. I'm in rockville, feel freee to come down or we can meet upp and you can try them both. Everyone hangs a little differently, try them out first.

    Welcome to HF and take gratefuldanny up on his offer to try his gear. I highly recommend it if you can. I can speak for two of the three hammocks that you have listed and the CJH and ENO are two decidedly different hammocks.

    Welcome Uncle I am also new to the forum. I am waiting for my fabric to arrive, plan to make a bridge hammock since I am a tummy sleeper. I can now call my sewing room a gear workshop since I am starting from scratch. I already have a list of DIY's I want to do and the folks on this forum are an awesome resource. I bet you will be in the market for a used sewing machine soon.
