Why oh why did I wait so long for an underquilt...oh yeah the price (the less said about that the better)....I read somewhere that it was like being enveloped in downy goodness and that is the perfect phrase.

Still have some tweaking but man it feels good on my back...guess I better start saving for the top quilt.

(still can't get over how something that packs down so small can be so warm, and this is only the 3 season)

Nice to have 2 different s biners to distinguish head from foot: head end has thicker baffles for the torso. In the summer, I sleep with the thinner half under my torso and leave it a little loose to keep from over-heating. Could not be happier!

It is my understanding that the different color binenrs only come on the full length underquilt as it has a head and foot end whereas the Phoenix is the same on both ends. And for the record, my Phoenix came with 2 black colored biners.

Hmmmm maybe thats the problem cause I didn't have any s biners I just hooked it into the carabiners? Maybe that stretched out too far?

GGT - Are you hooking the shockcord from the ends of the UQ to the biners at the tree straps? Is that why you think it's too short?

If so, that's why the sides are so tight.

The shockcord only needs to be attached at the gathered end of the hammock, not right out to the tree.

Apologies if you already know this, it just sounded that way in your description.

Nah I was hooking it to the carabiner at the end of the eno (stock, other than lighter biners) that was making it too tight...ended up just looping it around where the cord comes out of the gathered end not much difference in length but a much more comfortable lay...I'll grab some s biners and hook them from that point from now on just so it doesn't slip off in the night

    Easy enough fix

I don't understand. Why are there biners at the end of your hammock when you have listed that your're using Whoopie Slings?

I have a slightly modified all in one suspension so I can hook biners of different hammocks to the rings and switch out hammocks while only using one suspension...also it means when camping I can leave my main rig up and just unhook my hammock for lounging (with slap straps) and take it on day hikes
