    Fire ban

    Superior Hiking Trail Association
CAMPFIRE BAN: Due to the extremely dry conditions, the Department of Natural Resources and the Superior National Forest have banned all campfires in Lake, Cook and St. Louis counties. This means absolutely no campfires on the Superior Hiking Trail. Camp stoves are okay but use extreme caution. The Superior Hiking Trail Association is posting this order on all our trailhead signs September 16, 2011. We’ll post again when the order has been lifted.

If you have a trip planned, be aware and plan accordingly. Remember, you can still have fun w/out a campfire.

I was going to enter the BWCA on Homer lake, Wendesday, but the entry point is closed. Out of 60-70 entry points only 20 are open now.
