The weather here in Nebraska is perfect for a semi wet/cool weather hang. Have a good hang!

I had a good night. I was in my backyard, so my neighbors were the only thing that kept me up.

I did have a problem though. It seemed when I woke up, my feet where always at the end of the hammock. So I would slide up toward my head. And then maybe 2 hours later I was at the end. Is it possible that I didnt have the hammock level?

    Thanks for helping a newb

    Major94,
Glad to hear the night went pretty well. I have struggled with that same problem and found I was too level in the hammock. You want your feet above you a bit 3-6 inches seems to be the consensus around here. The problem is your upper torso is heaver then your legs and if you are level that weight will slide to the lowest point driving your feet up and into the end of the hammock, soooooo the answer is string your leg end a bit higher and it keeps you from sliding down. I heard someone here call it "a mechanical advantage for your legs" thought that was a good description.

thanks man, I will try that tonight.

People keep telling me that it will be bad on my back. I dont have back issues, I just think they are talkin trash. but My knees felt bad by the morning from being hyper extended. Should I put a pillow under them, or lay on my side? what do ya think?

I can't speak for everyone here but for me once I find that sweet spot there is no tension on my back. Most people that say a hammock makes their back hurt are hanging straight down the middle not diagonally. Put a little angle in your lay and I doubt the back will ever be an issue.

It will take a bit to find that just right spot for your knees, many here swear by a small pillow or stuff sack under the knees to help take that pressure off. I find laying on my side or with legs bent and knees to ether side work almost as well. Try the pillow and see what happens just make sure it isn't too big. I think bigger isn't better under the knees but that is just my opinion.
