Ok, so I have a few questions

1. It feels like the hammock is too tight on my body. It is too hard to lay on the diagonal.

2 It seems that I am laying on one side of the hammock.Every time I try to move over in the hammock, I get nowhere for my effort. There is more fabric of the hammock on my right side, and I can look out the netting on my left.

Side note. Part of my problem is the two trees I am hanging from, are 30 feet apart, and they are 100 year old trees. I baught 15 foot tie downs to make my tree huggers, and they didnt make it around the tree. So I tied two 15 footers together per tree. Could this be part of my problem? Thanks.

Couple things come to mind on your situation. 30 feet is a long hang, it is doable but you will have to put your tree huggers way up. At 15 feet between trees you need about 6 feet off the ground for your straps to maintain a 30 degree angle. Translate that out to 30 feet between trees and you would need 12-14 feet off the ground with the straps in the trees. Your hammock doesn't have a fixed ridge line which might let you fudge that height a little but even then 30 feet is a big gap.

Just a thought but are there a couple branches that come off the main trunk a ways up, that you could hang from, that are closer together then the trunks?

I sure don't want this to keep you from enjoying the hammock sooooo, if you would like a nice little drive and want a chance to play around with the hammock a bit, you can bring it out to my place and we can mess around with them and see if we can't figure it out.

"30 degrees numbnuts! 30 degrees" in my best R Lee Ermey impersonation. Doesn't matter how far apart your hanging points are as long as the ropes coming into that hang are at about 30 degrees when they get to the hammock. That means your attach points are going to be quite high in the tree, a little over 8.5 feet.

Is this the height that you strapped your wraps?

A Ridgeline on your hammock will also help, taking up the load if your angle isn't quite 30 degrees.

Ahhh, the Derek Hansen chart above explains it all for you even though it takes a 6 foot man and drops him on a metric scale.

I had issues with getting my SBP dialed in at first also. Switched the suspension to whoopies and straps. Also added an adjustable ridgeline, which helped that specific hammock become a worthy friend for the trail. I did the "Griz"mods with my ridgeline and bugnet which took care of the droopy net issues I had. Just play around with your height and how much swag you've got in your hammock. Makes all the difference.

Ok, I put a ridgeline on the hammock. It sags alot more, and it is way more comfortable. I will sleep in it tonight, and let you know what I think.

Here is a picture of my setup as of now. Just a tarp out of my truck. It gets the job done.
