Welcome aboard from Florida. Yeah, there is a bit of a learning curve but when it's right it doesn't get any better.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.
The one and only. I am all over these here innerwebs.
Ask RVTech over there. He has a Hennessy.
You are gonna find that not all the back country sites are condusive to hanging. Most are cleared for the tenters. Trees are there but BIG and not always conveniently close. Watch out for the horse people.
Yeah I know. Horse evidence everywhere
I camped at the Homestead site. It was nice and close. I just went to test out the HH. I'm not a hiker and got my hammock mainly for kayak trips.
Same here. Kayaking trips are fun as long as the water is moving at a decent clip. I don't like having to constantly paddle to keep moving. I have a rec yak not a touring so a break through the riffles is welcomed.
The homestead site is nice because it is about 1/4 mile back off the main trail. You get some seclusion and privacy back there. Others are not very far off the trails.
Hi Brutus,
I'm from just west of you. Seems to be quite a few Ky. boys on here. We've got plenty of trees to hang from. May see you around.
2 trees, 2 straps, 2 minutes.., 2 comfy 2 care
I lived in Cave City for a while. I stopped at Cracker Barrel not long ago and it tripped me out to see people smoking in there lol.
Welcome, from Iraq by way of Frankfort, KY!

I just bought a Jackson Coosa fishin yak. That's my new interest...along with "hangin" around. My bud and I are plannin on a few river adventures, probably over in the Big South Fork, mainly to hunt, fish, get away.
Seems there are several Ky Boys on here. Maybe we need to do a semi-organized "hang". Gonna be hard to keep me outta the woods huntin with my recurve for the next few weeks. Maybe we can try a spring-fling-thing.
Welcome from sunny South Florida!
A bit of tweaking is necessary but not much. It helps to set up in the backyard or local park on a Saturday and just play with it. Set it up, lay down, take it down, set it up again.... just have fun!
