Well, we had 4 members arrive (I figure they will chime in and self identify) with 3 of us camping in hammocks. Griz Bridge, Hennessy and Warbonnet were represented. Sadly, the recent drought prevented a campfire, but we made do - thanks to an enterprising member. Hiking is available for all levels of skill and endurance. From a stroll to a bridge over a pretty creek to much longer trip along a very pretty trail which is 32 miles long. I think that I will return for the Spring event as I understand that the wild flowers are in bloom then.

One surprising side feature was a trip to Tunk's Seafood across the lake from the camp area. Great food and view.

My own tale was that I rode my Harley over from Mississippi with my gear attached. It was late at night when I realized that there is a gravel road involved. I camped nearby to wait for daylight so I could ride a bit more safely. In the morning, I found our camp and joined in the fun.

I was very disappointed I couldn't join you guys. It was great weather this weekend for a hang and I am glad you guy got to take advantage of it. I won't let anything (besides child birth) keep me from the Spring hang.

It was great fun. Small turn out but big fun. Made some great friends and saw some pretty country. Even saw a deer that was as surprised to us as we were to see him. Looking forward to the spring hang.

Nothing great ever starts out that way. Look at our Saints. I had a great time. The weather was good, a little cooler during the day would have made it perfect. The company was excellent, really enjoyed meeting and spending time with new friends. We are going to have the second annual spring hang to coincide with the spring bloom. We are hoping that all those who were unable to attend this past weekend will plan to attend in the spring. There are some beautiful areas on the Wild Azalea Trail. From piney woods to swampy areas with cypress trees. Plenty of nice sites to hang hammocks. Come see join us in the spring.

I am very ashamed. I did not take pictures like I should have. I didn't cover any new ground. I will be hiking a new area in a couple of weeks. I promise pictures.

Thanks! It is one reason why I wanted the hammock, so I can camp out on the Harley while touring.
