    Video: Dolly Sods Group Hike/Hang

I hiked in Friday night and met up with a bunch who'd been out for a few days already. We had some great campfire stories and jokes then a perfect nights sleep in our cozy hammocks. Woke to temps at 35F and slowly rising.

Two groups went out for a day hike exploring the beauty of the Dolly Sods area. A must visit and a place I will return to many times in the future. We finished off the day with another campfire and some great camaraderie. It was a most enjoyable weekend and I am lucky to have been able to make it!

Thanks for the video I had to miss this one this year. I see Hickory and WV made it again, lots of new faces though. Very nice footage!

Instead of relying on my memory, there was a group photo taken that I'll wait until Knotty posts to identify all that were there.... I just wanted to share some of the scenery we enjoyed.

I have to say that starting out on Wednesday with a group of people I have never met in person before, I hated to say goodbye today. This was really an amazing trip that I am so glad I made it. All the thanks in the world goes out to HappyCamper for setting this up. Even though she could not make it, she was thought of by everyone that knows her. Joe is right, it was great setting around the fire sharing stories, knowledge, and jokes. Truly a trip to remember for me. I'll be posting up some photos as soon as I can.

Wednesdays group - Myself, Lisa, WV, Bonaparte, Knotty, sweetbabyd, Oh-No, Pioneer Woman, JD.
Friday-Sat-Sun.-All the above + Norm, USMCStang, Joey, Hickory, Dutch, Maztrain, FireFly.

I believe that is the entire list, if I forgot anyone or misspelled anyones name, please forgive me.

Two new trail names where given on this trip, FrontierWomen and FireFly. I vote we give Lisa the name of EarlyBird. To all those that know why, what do you think?

    Mike.

    +1, I like it.

    Joe: Great video, thank you.

I also want to add that this was a great trip, met up with some old friends,
and met some wonderful new people. As always it's nice to meet the people behind the names & posts.

Thanks Happy Camper, we missed you.
There were several toasts in your honor.
See you at the next hang.

    Wednesday September 14 GPS Tracks
    Thursday September 15 GPS Tracks
    Friday September 16 GPS Tacks
    Sunday September 18 GPS Tracks

USMCStang will have to provide you Saturday hike. I was busy fighting off bear. Would also like to thank JD for that 10 mile hike out and back up hill both ways through the snow carrying that 500lb Root Bottle, and a few other things.
