I made a flip-flop pair of these out of the blue WM foam and they were wicked light and comfortable as long as I was on smooth ground. Once I stepped on a rock or a twig I could hear the closed cells popping and then feel said rock or twig in my foot. Twigs were REAL bad about poking all the way thru the foam. Is there a way to keep this from happening?

A bazillion years ago when I was in high school, I had a buddy that simply duct taped the bottom of his feet--I don't recall the specifics of that particular endeavor other than that it was a failure of epic proportions. The blue ccf sandals seem the better option
You're gonna need a bigger hammock
lol cool idea thanks
a roll of duct tape is pretty heavy though ;-)

I use a pair of insoles that have a single length of paracord attached to it to make a flip flop. a picture of how I tie the cord is here in this thread: http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-...hread_id=20718
I haven't tried it with the blue foam though. also, sorry if external linking is frowned upon, I can edit it out.
